We are the Team That Goes
Underground
Uncharted
Uncompromising
Most cave divers never leave the tourist corridors of Playa del Carmen and Tulum. In Mérida, the caves are deeper, many systems are largely uncharted, and the environment is unforgiving. There is no direct ascent, no ambient light, and no external support. Everything we do, depends on trust, precision, and planning. Our team, our gear, and our training are what we rely on. They're the only margin we have.
Expeditions
Site 1
The Root Curtain
For most, the map ends at the water's edge.
For us, that's where the adventures starts.
Site 1 is an open cenote that is one of Yucatán's most beautiful. Ceiba tree roots cascade over the rocky rim and plunge into crystal-clear water below, creating a scene that feels more like myth than geography. A natural slope leads down to turquoise water roughly 3 meters deep and clear enough for swimming, The real magic, however, is below the surface, where we are working to explore and map the expansive underwater cave system that boasts up to 65m deep.
Site 3
The Forgotten Pool
Site 3 is rustic open cenote with an open pool stretching roughly 25 by 39 meters of deep blue water. It was once a small archaeology site where Archaeologists found pottery and jaguar bones inside but is more of a natural water source and gathering place for the locals. Beneath the surface there are a multitude of cave entrances of varying technical difficulty that thus far appear to be interconnected. Impressive brown entrances lead to white caverns and and explored max depth of 58 meters.
The audience
Technical divers are not casual consumers. They spend $5,000–$30,000+ on gear per certification level — and they research every purchase obsessively before buying. Niche trust converts at dramatically higher rates than mass awareness. One recommendation to the right 500 people outperforms a campaign seen by 500,000.
The content
Captured during active cave surveys, exploration dives, and deep technical operations. Real-world application under depth, load, and constraint — every time. No staging. No controlled pool conditions. No gear that hasn't been tested where failure has consequences.
Our Audience — Your Customer Base
Technical diving and cave exploration content. Not lifestyle. Not staged. Gear tested in conditions where failure has consequences — in front of an audience that knows the difference.

Work With Us
Whether you're a manufacturer looking to put your gear in front of the right audience, or a media outlet looking for content from systems nobody else is covering, this is where that conversation starts.
We don't do fluff. Tell us how we can help.
Who are we
We are Merida Papacitos Cave Divers, a team of instructors and deep-water technical divers.
Our work is exploration, survey, and mapping. Every dive is structured, every role defined, and every movement intentional.
To do this we mainly operate with close circuit rebreathers, tri-mix, and a variety of other tools.
Safety and reliability is paramount. We trust our training, our equipment, and each other.
